COURSE MATERIALS & STUDENT PORTAL
With our forthcoming textbook series publication (Greater Khorasan Press, 2023), all lesson materials will be distributed digitally for free via Google Classrooms.
CULTURAL PROGRAM
Every Friday afternoon, students academy-wide may attend our newly launched cultural series, Chaikhanai Rudaki, consisting of weekly language tables, special guest speakers and extra tutoring options as needed. These novel extracurricular events are free for all registered students with attendance completely optional.
METHODOLOGY
Our progressive, task-based curriculum promotes methodological innovations and new approaches to designing teaching programs, notably the development of a communicative approach. Students actively engage in exercises that highlight real-life scenarios over outdated practices of repetition and memorization.
Course levels are structured according to the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference of Languages (CEFR) and classifies language proficiency with three broad “threshold levels” of competency: Basic User, Independent User and Proficient User. These descriptors specify progressive mastery of each skill, which is graded on a six-level scale (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2). Additional subdivisions may be added according to the needs of the institution. At Rudaki, each level spans two sessions of coursework (i.e. A1.1 and A1.2) for which, after successful completion, the student may seek official certification.
ELIGIBILITY
At the introductory A1.1 beginner level, anyone may register, as there are no academic restrictions nor prior language knowledge required. For each subsequent level, such as A1.2, the student must have completed the A1.1 level with satisfactory attendance or schedule a proficiency interview with one of our instructors.
ENROLLMENT
By following the ticket purchasing prompts on Eventbrite, enrollment is a simple process. Once your order is confirmed, you will be automatically sent a form to include basic personal information, as well as short essay responses regarding your interest in this field and region. A third form to be signed and returned details the academy’s terms and conditions regarding our 80% attendance policy, our class cancellation and refund policy if the minimum amount of students per class has not been met or, conversely, section additions if more than 30 students have enrolled in any single class, plus the non-distribution and/or dissemination of any academy teaching materials and intellectual property.
CERTIFICATION
Upon successfully attending and completing any of the 6 proficiency levels from A1 to C2, students may seek official CEFR certification available through the University of Ankara.
ATTENDANCE
As the pace of any intensive language program is quite substantial by design, consistently solid group attendance is critical to ensuring every student progresses in unison. Multiple absences typically bottleneck the collective group’s rate of progress, as much class time is dedicated to reviewing previous lessons instead of advancing onto new topics. In order to ensure the group does not fall behind, we strictly enforce an 80% attendance policy. In a standard group class that meets 16 times per session, a student may miss up to 3.5 classes before being requested to leave and restart the course again the following session.
